Xiaomi MIX 4 Announced: Under-Display Selfie Camera, Snapdragon 888+ SoC, and 120W Fast Charging

Xiaomi has officially launched the MIX 4 in China. In addition to that, the company also launched a bunch of other products that include – Mi Pad 5, Mi Pad 5 Pro, Xiaomi “CyberDog” robot, Xiaomi Sound smart speaker, Mi TV Master (77-inch), and Mi TV 6 OLED smart TVs. 

The newly-launched MIX 4 is the company’s first phone with an under-display selfie camera and the World’s first phone to launch with Snapdragon 888+ SoC. Let’s take a look at the Xiaomi MIX 4’s price, specifications, and availability.

Xiaomi MIX 4: Price, Availability

Xiaomi MIX 4 starts at CNY 4,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. It also comes in 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage options priced at CNY 5,299 and CNY 5,799 respectively. The top-end 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant has a CNY 6,299 price tag. 

Xiaomi MIX 4 is offered in Ceramic Black, Ceramic White, and Ceramic Grey color options. The phone will be up for sale in China from August 16. At the launch, Xiaomi didn’t reveal any details about the international availability of the MIX 4. Since Mi 10 Ultra made its way to India, the MIX 4 is also likely to launch in India. Hopefully, we may hear an official announcement very soon.

The phone has a 6.67-inch FullHD+ 10-bit AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The panel is curved and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. MIX 4 is powered by Snapdragon 888+ chipset paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. Adreno 660 is there to handle GPU tasks. 

The MIX 4 has a triple camera setup on the back which includes a 108MP HMX sensor with f/1.33 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The primary sensor is joined with a 13MP ultrawide lens with a 120-degree field of view and a 13MP telephoto shooter with 50x zooming capability. The 20MP selfie shooter is hidden under the display.

Xiaomi has used CUP technology in MIX 4’s display to match the pixel brightness, pixel density, and colors around the hidden selfie camera with the remaining portion of the screen to completely hide the selfie camera. The phone packs a 4,500mAh battery and supports 120W fast wired charging along, and 50W wireless charging.

It has an in-display fingerprint scanner for security and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) to precisely locate the smart devices. Connectivity options include – 5G, 4G LTE, USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and GPS. Other notable specs include – IP68 rating, IR sensor, Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, Dual speakers tuned by Harman/Kardon sound. Last but not the least, the MIX 4 has a thickness of 8.02mm.
