Civi – a new smartphone series from Xiaomi will launch on September 27. Earlier today, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer took to Weibo to announce the launch date without revealing anything about the product. Xiaomi’s Civi announcement will go live on September 27 at 2 PM local time.
Xiaomi’s Civi is rumored to be the company’s another rebranding exercise to replace the popular “CC” series after it recently removed Mi” branding on all its upcoming products in the global market. The company’s “CC” series was popular for offering premium-mid range smartphones at an affordable price. Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro is the last “CC” series phone that debuted in 2019.
Recently some leaked images surfaced on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo which are claimed to be of Xiaomi Civi. Leaked images show a centered punch-hole display with very slim bezels. It has a rectangular camera block on the back. According to a Xiaomi tipster @Xiaomiui, the upcoming Xiaomi Civi may have a 108MP camera sensor. The impressive thing here is that its 108MP ISOCELL HM3 sensor, which is also used in Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Xiaomi Civi is expected to come in two models – a regular Civi and a Pro model. Rumors are that the regular model will be powered by Snapdragon 778G SoC, while the Pro model may get Snapdragon 888 chipset. It is expected to feature an OLED display and fast charging.
Since we are just a couple of days away from the launch, Xiaomi will start teasing the device that will tell us more about the Xiaomi Civi.
