Xiaomi recently announced Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Pro in the global market. The devices were originally launched in China last year, and the company took nearly three months to make them available in the global market. Although the three Xiaomi 12 series put a good impression among reviewers and users, the top-of-the-line Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to bring some major upgrades.
The Chinese smartphone brand has not yet confirmed any details about the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. However, past reports and renders have revealed what we can expect from the device. A fresh report from Pricebaba citing Mukul Sharma claims that the device will launch in China in May. According to the report, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will first launch in China, and then it will be released in global markets. Still, the launch date is under the cover.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra specifications (rumoured)
According to past reports, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra could come with an OLED LTPO 2.0 screen with Quad HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, and 10-bit colour support. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset could be powering the device. Qualcomm is also reportedly working on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chip, which is expected to debut in a Motorola phone soon. So, the possibility is that Xiaomi might use the new Snapdragon chip inside the Ultra model.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra will boot Android 12-based MIUI 13 skin at the top. It is said to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. The device is rumoured to feature a round camera module on the back that might include a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, a 48MP telephoto lens, and a 16MP portrait camera.
Xiaomi 11 Ultra has a secondary display on the back. But, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is likely to miss it, as the renders that surfaced in the past do not show such a thing. Several reports suggest that Xiaomi has partnered with camera maker Leica for the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Hopefully, we’ll have more details about the device in the coming weeks.
