Vivo X80 Pro Launches With 50MP Quad Cameras, 2K AMOLED Screen, and 80W Fast Charging

Vivo X80 Pro was the highlight of today’s event held by Vivo in China. The smartphone was launched alongside the vanilla Vivo X80, which has also got a premium set of specifications. The Vivo X80 Pro, as the rumours suggested in the past, has been launched in two chipset variants – Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The two chipset variants of the Vivo X80 Pro have no changes in the design or other specifications. Both the variants feature a 2K AMOLED screen, a high-end quad-camera setup, and 80W fast charging.

Vivo X80 probably has the biggest camera module on a Vivo phone. Again, it has been made in partnership with ZEISS. The rear camera island houses four sensors and an LED flash unit. The smartphone has very slim bezels on the front. A punch-hole cutout is located at the centre to house a selfie camera. Overall, the design looks eye-catching and promising.


Vivo X80 Pro has a 6.78-inch Samsung E5 LTPO AMOLED screen with 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1500nits. The panel has a 1000Hz touch sampling rate and offers 10-bit colours and HDR support. Vivo X80 Pro features a large size fingerprint scanner under the display.

Performance and Storage

Vivo X80 Pro has been launched in two chipset variants. One with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the other version has Dimensity 9000 chipset. The device comes in an 8GB RAM variant for the Snapdragon version. However, the MediaTek version only comes with 12GB RAM.

Vivo has offered X80 Pro (Snapdragon) in three memory configurations: 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB. For Dimensity 9000 version, you get to choose from two memory configurations: 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB.


The latest Vivo X-series phone features a quad camera setup on the back that includes a 50MP GNV 1G primary sensor with OIS support. The main sensor is joined with a 48MP Sony IMX598 ultrawide lens, a 12MP Sony IMX663 telephoto lens, and an 8MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom. A 32MP sits at the front for taking selfies and video calls. Vivo X80 Pro comes with the company’s self-developed V1+ ISP to boost image quality and photography experience.

Battery and Charging

The Vivo X80 Pro ships with a 4,700mAh battery with support for 80W fast wired charging. It also supports 50W fast wireless charging.

Other Details

The smartphone ships with Android 12 out of the box with a layer of OriginOS custom skin at the top. It is equipped with dual stereo speakers and X-axis linear motor. Vivo X80 Pro is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.

Vivo X80 Pro pricing and availability

Vivo X80 Pro (Dimensity version) has been launched in China at a starting price of CNY 2,999 (~Rs 70,200). The Snapdragon version starts from CNY 5,499 (~Rs 64,300). The device will be up for sale in China starting April 29. Vivo has not announced its availability for the Internation market. However, it is likely to launch in other markets including India.
