Vivo has now officially confirmed the launch date for its first foldable phone. The latest teaser posted by Vivo on Weibo confirms that the Vivo X Fold will launch in China on April 11. On the event, which will kickstart at 7:30 PM (local time), the brand might also announce Vivo X Note, Vivo Pad, and probably the Vivo X80 series also.
The teaser dropped on its official Weibo account confirms the arrival of Vivo’s first foldable phone, which is called Vivo X Fold. Oppo has already announced its first foldable phone, Oppo Find N, and another BBK group member is all set to enter the foldable smartphone market. The short teaser video does not completely reveal the Vivo X Fold’s design. However, the right side appears to have an alert slider.

The upcoming Vivo X Fold is reportedly codenamed “Butterfly”. It is rumoured to come with a 6.53-inch cover OLED screen with FullHD+ resolution and a punch-hole cutout on the cover display for the selfie camera. It is said to support a 120Hz refresh rate.
Vivo X Fold could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It is said to come in two memory configurations – 12GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage. The device is rumoured to feature quad cameras on the back consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 48MP sensor, a 13MP sensor, and an 8MP sensor. It could house a 4,600mAh battery with support for 80W fast wired charging.
We’re still more than two weeks away from the launch. During that time, we can expect more details to surface online through leaks or official teasers.
