Vivo V23 5G (V2130) Bags Multiple Certifications in a Clear Indication of Imminent Launch

Chinese smartphone maker, Vivo, is reportedly in the works to bring Vivo V21 successor – the V23 series – to India. It has already launched its first member Vivo V23e in Vietnam last month and is now looking to add more members to the lineup. According to recent leaks, the company will announce Vivo V23 Pro in India in January 2022. In the latest development, the vanilla Vivo V23 5G has received a couple of necessary certifications, thereby hinting at an imminent launch.

The Vivo V23 5G has passed through Malaysia’s Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) certification authority. It reveals that the model number V2130 belongs to the Vivo V23 5G. The device has also obtained a green signal from India’s Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification authority. All this indicates that the Vivo phone is in the process of acquiring necessary approvals from the concerned authority. Therefore, we can expect an official announcement very soon.

There’s not much known about the Vivo V23 5G, as of writing this post. However, past leaks suggest that the device may come with improved cameras and a better chipset. While we wait for Vivo to announce the Vivo V23 5G and V23 Pro, let’s take a quick look at the first member of the V23 series, the Vivo V23e.

The Vivo V23e was released last month in Vietnam. It brings a 6.44-inch FullHD+ AMOLED screen with a small notch for the 50MP selfie camera. It features a triple camera setup on the back that includes a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. The phone is powered by Helio G96 chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Vivo V23e packs a 4,050mAh battery and supports 44W fast charging via an USB Type-C port.
