Vivo Has Reportedly Discontinued Popular NEX Series

Vivo NEX family discontinued

NEX series is Vivo’s popular lineup of high-end pop-up selfie camera smartphones. Vivo NEX 3S was the last smartphone from the NEX series, which was launched back in 2020. Now, it seems like Vivo has cancelled the NEX family, as the brand has reportedly undergone an internal structural change.

The information comes from a reliable Chinese tipster Sina Digital, who claims that Vivo’s NEX division has undergone a major internal structural change in February this year, where its parent company Vivo has decided to discontinue the NEX division. The NEX series has also been reportedly removed from Vivo’s China website.

There’s no such official announcement from Vivo regarding the discontinuation of the NEX series. If the tipster claim is true, we’ll, hopefully, have an official confirmation soon.

Last month, It was reported that the upcoming Vivo NEX 5 would be called Vivo X Note. At that time, the NEX family discontinuation was just a speculation, which is not pretty much confirmed by the tipster. Vivo seems to be applying the same trick, which Samsung used with the Note series. The South Korean giant has shut down the Note series. But, the newly-launched Galaxy S22 Ultra is nothing but a Galaxy Note family member.
