Xiaomi has launched its Mi 11 series earlier this year. The Mi 11 was the first smartphone in the world to use an E4 AMOLED Display. The Mi 11 Ultra was directly competing with smartphones like iPhone 12 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S21 series. After a successful Mi 11 series, the company is now gearing up to launch its Mi 12 smartphone with a new bunch of specifications. The leaks regarding the specifications of the device have already started hovering online.
And now, we got another news coming online with hints towards some of the key specifications of the Mi 12 smartphone. As for the launch date, the device has been rumoured to launch in China in Q1 2022. According to a report from MyDrivers, the Mi 12 device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC, which is yet to be announced. Some rumours also hint that Mi 12 will be the first smartphone to launch commercially with Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC. Xiaomi has already launched many smartphones with the first in the world to use Qualcomm chipsets due to the strong connection between Qualcomm and Xiaomi.

The Mi 12 is also rumoured to come with LPDDR5x RAM which will be slightly powerful from LPDDR5 RAM, which we saw in 2021 flagships. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 898+ DDR5x RAM combination is overkill for many sets of people. Also, it is worth mentioning that Snapdragon 888 and 870 doesn’t support LPDDR5x RAM. This is a strong hint toward Snapdragon 898 in Mi 12. As for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC, it is said to come with four cluster core layouts configured in a 1+3+2+2 structure with 4X efficiency cores, 2X high frequencies cores and 2X low frequencies cores. It is said to come with a new Cortex X2 power core clocked at 3.09Ghz.
