Far Cry 6 has only been released for six months, but Ubisoft has already made its latest open-world shooter free-to-play for a limited time. Far Cry 6 will be available for download and play for free on all platforms starting in just a few days. While this is significant news in and of itself, it also coincides with the launch of a brand-new mission.

Far Cry 6 will be available for free download on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC starting today, March 24th, and lasting till March 27th. For those who don’t want to wait until the promotion starts to download the game, it can now be pre-loaded. While most promotions like this don’t allow gamers to access all regions of a game, Far Cry 6 will let players to play alone or in co-op with a companion. In addition, all of the DLC for FC6 that has been released thus far will be available.

Because Far Cry 6 is such a large game, it’s likely that individuals who jump into the free offer won’t be able to see everything it has to offer. Fortunately, Ubisoft has slashed the price of the game by half for this free weekend. If customers choose to purchase the complete game, any progress achieved during the trial period will be carried over.

As previously stated, this partnership coincides with the addition of a new Far Cry 6 quest that is tied to Netflix’s Stranger Things TV series. The mission, which will be online on March 24th, will be free on all platforms and will be available to people who are currently playing the game for free.
