The ZenFone 8 series, which will replace the ZenFone 7 series, is expected to include three devices: the ZenFone 8, the ZenFone 8 Pro, and the ZenFone 8 Mini. The company also recently released a teaser video, implying that the ZenFone 8 series smartphones which feature a punch-hole display rather than a flip camera mechanism. ASUS released another teaser video on Tuesday, implying that the ZenFone 8 series smartphones would have a higher refresh rate than the ZenFone 7 series models.
ASUS ZenFone 8 series might have a 120Hz refresh rate display:
The smoothness of the display of the ZenFone 8 series smartphones is highlighted in the teaser posted by ASUS on Twitter. Although ASUS hasn’t specified the refresh rate, the video shows a silhouette of a smartphone (likely one of the ZenFone 8 series devices) with the word “Smoothness” doodled on its display in 120 ‘o’ letters. It strongly implies that the ASUS ZenFone 8 series would have a display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is substantially higher than the ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro’s 90Hz refresh rate display. That being said, it is unsurprising that the ZenFone 8 series may feature a 120Hz refresh rate display, as this has become the bare minimum for flagship smartphones.

In terms of other key specifications, the ASUS ZenFone 8/ ZenFone 8 Pro was recently spotted on Geekbench, revealing that the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, 8GB of RAM, and the Android 11 operating system. According to XDA-Developers, the ZenFone 8 series smartphones will feature a 64MP IMX686 sensor and a Sony IMX663 module. It also mentions that the ZenFone 8 Mini, the smallest smartphone in the lineup, will have a 5.9-inch screen. Furthermore, the TUV certification indicates that the ZenFone 8 Mini can support 30W charging. According to rumours, Asus may release the ZenFone 8 Flip, which will be the only smartphone in the lineup with a flip camera mechanism.
