According to a recent social media post, the Motorola Razr 3 or Motorola Razr 2022 or whatever you want to call it — the Lenovo-owned company’s expected third clamshell foldable – could be in line for a significant storage space increase. Chen Jin, a Lenovo official, took to the Chinese social media platform Weibo to report on the popularity of the 512GB variant of the mid-range Moto Edge S30. Apparently, this has prompted the company to consider how much capacity to include in future handsets, especially foldable ones.

According to Chen Jin, “everyone needs” a lot of storage space on their phones, and that forthcoming Motorola products, including those with folding screens, will include 512GB models that will “surprise everyone.”

Although this does not ensure that you will be able to purchase the next Motorola Razr with 512GB of storage capacity, it does suggest that it is a significant possibility. The phone is also expected to receive a chipset boost. The original Motorola Razr, which had a maximum storage capacity of 128GB and 6GB of RAM, was introduced in 2019. Its 2020 successor, the Motorola Razr 5G, has 256GB of storage space and 8GB of RAM. If Lenovo’s intentions materialized, storage will be more than double by 2022.

For the time being, we don’t know much about Motorola’s impending foldable, however, the lack of a 2021 model was a surprise. In patents, we’ve also seen Lenovo experimenting with a couple of other foldable phone concepts.
