Apple recently unveiled the iPhone 13 lineup at the California Streaming event last month. While the iPhone 13 series has a phenomenal battery life compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 13 and the 13 mini still seem like an incremental upgrade. This is what Apple users said in a survey conducted by SellCell among 5,000 US-based iPhone Users.
In the survey, 64.1% of Apple users said it was “not very” or “not at all” exciting. The rest, 21.5%, said it was “somewhat exciting.” The number of people finding the iPhone 13 series “extremely” or “very exciting” was a mere 14.4%. This puts light on how many apple users found the iPhone 13 series to be pretty meh.
The market for mini phones is not huge, and this is proved again in the survey by SellCell where only 9.2% are upgrading to the iPhone 13 mini, and almost half 42.5% of the users will upgrade to the iPhone 13 Pro. 26.3% of the users will upgrade to the iPhone 13 Pro Max and 22% to the standard iPhone 13.
Let us also take a look at why these users will be upgrading to the newer iPhone 13 series. A majority of the users will be upgrading as the iPhone 13 Pro gets a 120hz refresh rate LTPO panel. Longer battery life is another reason to upgrade to the iPhone 13 series. Have a look at the chart below to know other reasons.
When asked what is holding back Apple users to upgrade to the iPhone 13, 29.3% said the “Lack of Touch ID,” and 19.5% said, “No major features to warrant an upgrade.” Again, have a look at the chart below to know other reasons holding back users from upgrading to the iPhone 13 lineup.
