Alleged Specs of Apple’s Upcoming MacBook Air Leaks Online

The Next Generation of The MacBook Air is Speculated to Borrow a Few Features From The New MacBook Pro.

Just a few days after Apple revealed its 2021 MacBook Pro 14-inch & 16-inch featuring the new M1 Pro and M1 Max at the ‘Unleashed’ event, the supposed specifications of Apple’s upcoming MacBook Air have already leaked online.

The next generation of the MacBook Air is speculated to borrow a few features from its bigger brother, the MacBook Pro, including a new mini LED screen, redesigned MagSafe, a new 1080p webcam, as well as the much-dreaded Notch to accommodate the thinner ‘off-white’ bezels around the display.

Other than the addition of these new features, the MacBook Air will also receive a major redesign, which has been unchanged since 2010. According to the leaks, the new redesign would ditch the current wedge design in favor of a more squared-off design similar to the MacBook Pro and will also offer new colour variations.

Other than the addition of these new features, the MacBook Air will also receive a major redesign, which has been unchanged since 2010. According to the leaks by @dylandkt, the new redesign would ditch the current wedge design in favor of a more squared-off design similar to the MacBook Pro and will also come in new colour variations, as we have seen with 24-inch iMacs.

The upcoming MacBook Air is expected to ship with a new Apple M2 processor. According to a Bloomberg report, it would run on a chip codenamed “Staten” that looks like a faster version of the M1. M2 will be a low-power, high-efficiency chip, allowing for a fan-less design, as we have seen with the M1 MacBook Air.

However, we don’t expect to see the addition of any new ports like we have seen with the MacBook Pro, and it will feature only two Thunderbolt ports, a headphone jack, and the new MagSafe Gen 3.

It’s expected that Apple might release the new MacBook Air sometime in 2022, at a slightly higher starting price than the current USD 999, and Apple might also drop “Air” from the name entirely.
