In a blog post on Monday, Sony Interactives Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said that Sony will continue operating the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita consoles in the PlayStation Store.
On 29 March Sony previously revealed that the PlayStation Store would be closed on 2 July and on 27 August on PS Vita. On 2 July, the corporation will also uninstall the PlayStation Portable console purchase capability.
Ryan said, “But with further thought, it’s clear that we made the wrong decision here.” In relation to the reversal. He clarified that the original decision to close PS3 and PS Vita was attributed to “a combination of reasons including the difficulties of supporting old system trading and the fact that we are able to concentrate more on modern devices with the rest of our players.”
