Samsung decided to enter 2021 with a bang, by announcing two of its latest budget offerings in the Galaxy A-series – Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02S. Both, A12 and A02S, are follow-ups to Samsung’s Galaxy A11 and A01 respectively but with updated features and specifications. Let’s take a look at them:
Samsung Galaxy A12 Specifications
Galaxy A12 boasts of a 6.5-inch HD+ TFT Display along with a 720 x 1500 resolution. A tiny waterdrop notch in the Infinity- V display houses the 8MP front camera. Uncovering further, an octa-core processor clocking at 2.3GHz is also included but it hasn’t been named by Samsung yet. Moreover, a Media Tek Helio P35 processor is used to draw power. 3GB/4GB/6GB RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB internal memory is also included in the performance unit which can be further expanded to up to 1TB. Coming down to optics, a 48MP primary lens, a 5MP ultra-wide, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor form the quad-camera setup; an 8MP front camera is present for selfies. A 5000 mAh battery is also packed in, supporting 15W fast charging through a USB Type-C port. Various connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, etc. are also available. A fingerprint scanner can be located mounted on the side. Lastly, three storage configurations with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB internal memory complete the smartphone. The 64GB variant starts at approximately ₹15,700 whereas the 128 GB option will be made available at about ₹17,500. It is currently offered in four color variations: Black, Blue, White, and Red.
Samsung Galaxy A02S Specifications
Galaxy A02S is slightly less impressive but it also boasts of a 6.5-inch HD+ TFT Display. An unspecified octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz is used, paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, which is expandable to up to 1TB. Similar to the A12, a 5000 mAh battery is also packed in, supporting 15W fast charging but with an older Micro USB port, opposed to the USB-C port. Coming down to optics, a 13MP primary lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor form the triple-camera setup; a 5MP front camera sensor is present. However, a fingerprint reader or any other form of biometric authentication won’t be found – only passcodes will have to be used. Lastly, it comes with a single storage configuration of 3GB RAM and 32GB storage which will be priced at roughly around ₹13,200. It is currently offered in two color variations: Black and White.
