OLED panels offer great colours, deeper blacks, and the viewing angles are great too. Samsung has started mass producing 90Hz OLED panels, the company posted on its Samsung Display Newsroom.

OLED panels were implemented in the recently announced ASUS ZenBook and VivoBook Pro laptops. Samsung gained a lot of attention for these high refresh rate 90Hz OLED panels from several laptop manufacturers.

If you are not familiar with what high refresh is, the refresh rate of the monitor refers to how many times per second can your display render a new image. If the refresh rate is 90Hz it means your monitor will refresh the image 90 times in a second which is a lot more when compared to the standard 60Hz that will refresh an image for only 60 times. Samsung conducted some internal tests and according to them 90Hz OLED panel showed a blur length of 0.9mm, a 10 percent improvement when compared to a 120Hz LCD panel’s blur length in video playback. Shorter blur length means less motion blur and clearer movement when watching videos.
