Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G Launched


Samsung has unveiled its foldable smartphones lineup in the Unpacked event on 11th August. They launched the Z Fold3, Galaxy Watch4, Galaxy Buds2, and the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. Foldable Phones? The Future inspired by the past? Let us have a look at what the Z Flip3 has to offer.

Hardware Specifications

Being a flagship device it comes with all the bells and whistles you would expect it to. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship processor, the Snapdragon 888. The base variant comes with 8GB RAM paired with 128GB of storage. It has a dual-camera setup with a 12MP OIS-enabled primary sensor along with a 12MP Ultrawide sensor.

The phone is powered by a 3,300 mAh battery. One major improvement that is noteworthy is that the phone is IPX8 Certified. It will run on Android 11 based One UI 3.1.

The main display of the phone is a Full HD+ AMOLED panel of 6.7 inches. The resolution is 1080×2640 pixels and is Samsung’s own 120h refresh rate panel. The screen houses a punch-hole camera of f2.2 aperture which is a 10MP shooter. The external screen’s size has been increased to 1.9 inches from 1.1 inches. the resolution of the panel is 269×512 pixels.


The phone comes in 4 colours: Cream, Phantom Black, Green, Lavender. It comes with a dual-tone finish that resembles the Panda Pixel (Pixel 2).

It is a full-sized phone that folds into 4.2 inches, has a glass back and a metal frame. This surely is a premium feeling device in hand. Taking it out in public is going to attract a lot of people. It has a fingerprint scanner on the frame of the phone. This aids in easier one-hand use. The secondary display on the outside has a lot more practical use to it, as it’s not only bigger but also can be customised in a variety of ways.

The Galaxy Z Flip3 comes in two storage options: 8GB +128GB and 8GB +256GB. The base variant is priced at $999 USD which is surprisingly lesser than its predecessor. That being said there is no official Indian pricing yet.
