Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra was expected to fill the void left by the discontinuation of the Galaxy Note series. We had accepted the death of the Note series, but according to recent leaks, the Galaxy Note might not be dead and might launch as the Samsung Galaxy Note 22 as soon as Q1 of 2022.
According to leakster Tron, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which was heavily leaked a couple of months ago, and we also got to see renders and live images of the devices, will launch as the Note 22. As the S22 Ultra has an in-built S-Pen which is the trademark of the Note series, it all comes together.
Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup comprises three devices: S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. Usually, Samsung’s Galaxy S flagship and Galaxy Note devices have been very similar, with one distinguishing factor being the S-Pen. Note series has also had a boxier design than the S series for the past couple of years, and that also is a crucial design factor that sets apart the Note devices. Now, the S22 Ultra also features a boxy design compared to its siblings, the S22 and the S22+.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is what we expected the Samsung Galaxy Note 22 to be like in terms of design. The rumoured specifications of the S22 Ultra are Snapdragon 8 Gen 1/ Exynos 2200, a quad-camera setup, curved display on the edges, which is not present on the S22 and S22+, and all other bells and whistles with the in-built S-Pen. It makes sense for Samsung to launch the S22 Ultra as the Note 22.
For those wondering “why”? The answer is simple, like every other lineup of devices, the Samsung Galaxy Note Series has its own set of fans. It comes with top-of-the-line specs and the S-Pen, which many users appreciate. And a stylus in your device is way more convenient than a case that houses the stylus (here referring to the S21 Stylus case) and adds to the bulk of the device.
All of these are leaks and rumours so take this data with a grain of salt. However, leaks often turn out to be true.
