Samsung Galaxy F42 5G is the company’s latest budget 5G phone in India, priced just above Rs 20,000. It is a slightly modified version of the Galaxy A22 5G which was launched earlier this year in Europe. The Galaxy F42 5G is highlighted with specs like Dimensity 700 chipset, 64MP triple cameras, 5000mAh battery, and a total of 12 5G bands for strong connectivity.

The newly-arrived Galaxy F42 5G starts at Rs 20,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model. It also comes in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant priced at Rs 22,999. 

As an introductory offer, Samsung is offering a total of Rs 2,000 discount on both variants. The phone comes in Matte Aqua and Matte Black colour options and will go on sale from September 3 via Flipkart, and Samsung’s official website.

The handset offers a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with 1080×2400 pixels FullHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and a waterdrop notch to house the selfie camera. It is driven by MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage.

Galaxy F42 5G boasts a triple camera setup on the back which includes a 64MP primary shooter, a 5MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP depth unit. There’s an 8MP snapper for selfies and video calling. The smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging through a USB Type-C port. It has 12 5G bands which are generally not seen in budget 5G phones. 

On the software front, Galaxy F42 5G boots One UI 3.1 skin, based on Android 11. The power button on the right side doubles as a fingerprint scanner. Connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Last but not least, the handset measures 167.2×76.4×9.0 mm.
