Samsung is going all-in with its foldable display technology. This comes after Samsung recently renewed its Galaxy Z Flip3 5G & Galaxy Fold 3 series of devices which have gotten mainstream attention.

Leaks by Twitter user @universeice says that Samsung might be working on a new laptop with a foldable display which will be called Samsung Galaxy Book Fold, Galaxy Book being the name of its existing lineup of laptops.

Foldable laptops aren’t the newest thing, Lenovo has already launched its ThinkPad X1 Fold which also features a similar folding display.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is sold at a price of Rs 2,55,000 and features:

  • Display: 13.3 inches 2K(2048×1536) Flexible, OLED display with Multi-Touch
  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i5 (5 Cores / 5 Threads, 1.40 GHz, up to 3.0 GHz with Turbo Boost, 4 MB Cache)
  • RAM: 8 GB Onboard LPDDR4x 4267MHz
  • Storage: 512 GB M.2 SSD
  • GPU: Intel® UHD Graphics (Integrated)
  • Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi 6 & Blurtooth 5.2
  • I/O: 2x USB-C Ports

People had mixed feelings about the ThinkPad X1 Fold mostly because of its build quality and how clunky it looked. Samsung on the other has more experience in the department of foldable displays as we have seen with the new Galaxy Z Flip3 5G & Galaxy Fold3, so we can expect a sleek and better-looking device.

At the moment we do not know anything about the device or its price, other than its display, it is rumoured that it will feature a 17-inch OLED display.

We’ll have to wait and see if and when Samsung announces the Galaxy Book Fold.
