Samsung Surprises Galaxy A51 Users With January 2022 Security Patch

Galaxy A51 is the first Android phone to receive the January 2022 security patch.

Samsung Galaxy A51 is already obtaining the January 2022 security patch as a new year’s gift from the South Korean tech giant. It has become the first Android device to receive the January security patch, even before Google Pixels.

Samsung Galaxy A51 users in Malaysia and Russia are receiving the latest OTA update that bumps the Android security patch level to January 2022, as per a Sammbile report. It is tagged with the firmware version A515FXXU5EUL3. We don’t have the complete changelog yet. However, it might bring some improvements and fixes, in addition to the January security patch.

Samsung is yet to detail the January 2022 security patch as to which vulnerabilities are patched here. Usually, it gets released in the first week of the month.

Galaxy A51 users in the specified regions have started picking up the next month’s security patch. It should reach more countries over the next few days, considering that the update does not bring any critical problems. The January 2022 security patch should reach more devices soon, starting from the more recent devices.
