Reliance Jio, which is perhaps India’s largest telecom company, is working closely with Google to launch budget 4G smartphones in the country. One of them is dubbed JioPhone Next which was announced at the 44th Reliance AGM held this year. The JioPhone Next is scheduled to launch in India on September 10. While we are less than a month away from the launch, XDA’s Editor-in-Chief, Mishaal Rahman has shared JioPhone Next specifications along with device’s boot screen image.
JioPhone Next specifications
The JioPhone Next is said to be powered by Qualcomm QM215 which is the Qualcomm 215 chipset. It may feature a 720×1,440 pixels display. The phone is said to carry model number LS-5701-J and boots Android 11 Go (Lighter version of Android 11). The phone’s boot screenshot shared by Mishaal says “JioPhone Next Created with Google”.
The JioPhone Next may feature a 13-megapixel Omnivision OV13B10 camera on the back and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies and video calling. It has camrea features like – HDR, Night Mode, and AR filters. The phone is said to have a newer version of Google Camrea Go with Snapchat integration. JioPhone Next may be offered in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants which is likely to be paired with 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. It is said to come pre-installed with ‘DuoGo’ which may have low RAM optimizations.
The company claims that JioPhone Next will be the world’s most affordable 4G smartphone. JioPhone Next seems to have a polycarbonate body. The rear side has a vertical camera module, main speaker, and Jio branding. It has a single front-facing camera and the cutout next to the camera appears as an LED flash or could be a sensor. The phone has thick bezels at the top and bottom giving a less screen-to-body ratio. The company has already confirmed that the JioPhone Next will be available for purchase starting September 10 in India.
