Reliance AGM 2021 Declared: Jio-Google 5G Phone, Low-Cost JioBook to be Launched Soon!

Reliance will hold its 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 24 at 2 p.m. IST.

Finally, the date for Reliance’s 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM) has been confirmed. The 44th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries will be held on June 24 at 2 p.m. IST. Mukesh Ambani, the chairman, managing director, and largest shareholder of Reliance Industries is expected to make the announcement regarding the launch of a cost-effective JioPhone 5G smartphone later this month.

This year’s AGM is assumed to include announcements about the Jio laptop, Jio 5G rollout timeline, Jio-Google 5G smartphone, and other 5G-related services by the telco. The chairman may even discuss the shareholders and more. Reliance’s YouTube channel, as well as social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, are expected to broadcast the online event.

JioPhone 5G Launch Details

Ambani is expected to announce the Jio 5G launch/rollout date. To recall, the company announced in December 2020 that Jio 5G services would be available by mid-2020, which is perfectly aligning with the Reliance AGM 2021. In its 5G trials, Reliance Jio has already achieved speeds of over 1Gbps.

Early reports suggested that the Jio 5G phone might cost as little as Rs 2,500 in India. The cheapest 5G smartphone in India is now priced at Rs 13,999 presently. Jio wants to offer 5G to the public, and a Rs 2,500 5G phone will make it easier for millions of 2G feature phone customers to upgrade to 5G.

In a recent interview with the media, Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated that the company is actively working with Reliance Jio to develop an affordable 5G smartphone.

JioBook Launch Details

Some details about JioBook’s low-cost lapop surfaced online earlier this year. The laptop is believed to operate on a custom Android version of Android and could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 CPU, which makes sense given Jio’s ongoing cooperation with Google and Qualcomm. The JioBook is also expected to have a 1366×768 resolution, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage.
