The performance of Apple’s M1, which was first introduced in 2020 with the debut of the new 13-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini, continues to surprise us. The 24-inch iMac, as well as the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro versions, all, have the same CPU.
However, there have been speculations that a new Apple M1X CPU is on the road and that it would appear in a new 14-inch MacBook Pro and a redesigned 16-inch MacBook Pro. But it doesn’t end there; we’ve also heard rumors that a new MacBook Air is on the coming, and the newest rumor says that this final model will come in 2022.
Now, a well-known Twitter leaker, Dylan, has claimed that Apple is planning to launch the “M2” chip with redesigned MacBook Air models in the first half of 2022.
According to the leaker, the M1X chip is being reserved for the higher-end Pro Mac models, which possibly could include the MacBook Pro and a larger, more powerful iMac model. Furthermore, the Twitter user said that the new MacBook Air model is “on track” to launch in the first half of 2022.
We don’t have much information on the M2 chip or the next-gen MacBook Air as of now. Stick to us for more updates.
