Wanted to buy a new Realme smartphone under the X series? You might want to re-consider. Madhav Seth, the CEO of Realme for India and Europe, has revealed that the Realme X7 and X7 Max 5G are the last smartphones in this lineup (via TechRadar).
Realme is the fastest-growing brand in the world right now. It debuted with the Realme 1, which was a bang-for-the-buck smartphone at that time. Since then, the company has been growing at a rapid pace. The growth rate of Realme is 65% YoY. And that is a huge number, which ranks Realme at 7th place as smartphone makers globally.
However, Madhav Seth says that the X line will be replaced by the GT series. To put it in his words, “GT is the new X.”
Realme has been teasing the GT series for quite a while now. The phone is set to launch on 18th August and has already been launched globally. The Realme GT has a 6.43 a Full HD+ display that comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, in-display fingerprint reader, and 91.7% screen-to-body ratio.
It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC paired with Adreno 660 GPU. The SoC is clubbed with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. To ensure the phone remains cool during intensive gaming, the phone has got a VC liquid cooling system as well.
