Earlier this month, Madhav Seth, CEO of Realme India and Europe, confirmed the arrival of Realme 8i and 8s to the Indian market. In recent weeks, we saw leaked renders and specifications of Realme 8s, but details about the Realme 8i were unknown until today. Popular tipster @OnLeaks shared (via Digit) the renders and specifications of the upcoming Realme 8i, which revealed pretty much everything about the phone, except the pricing.
The Realme 8 lineup already includes – Realme 8, Realme 8 5G, and Realme 8 Pro. Soon, there will be two new members – the Realme 8i and 8s. According to the Digit report, the upcoming Realme 8i will be the first phone to be powered by MediaTek Helio G96 SoC. Recent reports tell us that the Realme 8s could be the first phone to feature Dimensity 810 SoC. It seems like both the phones will mark the debut of new chipsets.
Realme 8i design
The upcoming Realme 8i boasts a similar design to the other Realme 8 series phones. It has a rectangular camera module on the back housing three sensors and an LED flash. The front panel is flat and feature a punch-hole-style selfie camera at the top-left corner. Bezels are thick on the bottom as compared to the upper side.
Realme 8i can be seen housing a side-mounted fingerprint scanner located on the right side of the phone, whereas the left side features volume rockers and a sim tray. The bottom part of the phone has cutouts for a 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone, USB Type-C port, and speaker grille.
Realme 8i specifications
According to the report, the phone has a 6.59-inch FullHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate support and a punch-hole cutout for a 16MP selfie shooter. The triple camera setup on the back includes a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP portrait lens, and a 2MP macro shooter.
Under the hood, Realme 8i is powered by MediaTek Helio G96 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB UFS2.2 storage. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery and is said to support fast charging. It weighs 194g and has a thickness of 8.6mm.
