The Poco M2 Pro was launched in India last year. At the time of launch, the device came with MIUI 11 based on Android 10. Two months ago the device has received MIUI 12 update based on Android 10. Now finally, the phone has started receiving the Android 11 update in India.
Poco M2 Pro is actually the rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro in India. The Note 9 Pro received an Android 11 update last year around November. But the same device under Poco branding is receiving the update eight months later at that time when Android 12 is right around the corner.
This Android 11 update on M2 Pro comes on top of MIUI 12. So, Poco has not bundled the MIUI 12.5 with this update. The new software update for the smartphone arrives with build number V22.214.171.124.RJPINXM. Apart from bringing a new Android version, it also improves the security patch level to August 2021.
As it’s an OTA update, the update will be rolled out in batches. Some users will get it earlier, while others have to wait for a little. Also, users can check manually from the system updates section in settings. But all users will receive it automatically.
