OPPO Find N Revealed: Here’s Everything That You Should Know About OPPO’s First Foldable Smartphone

OPPO Find N

After initially teasing its first foldable smartphone last week, OPPO, the Chinese electronics-maker, has finally revealed its latest Find N foldable smartphone on Wednesday, during the second day of its “INNO DAY 2021” event.

OPPO’s new foldable smartphone, which will be sold only in China starting from December 23, feels a bit smaller in contrast to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold. Although the Find N shares a very similar design to the Z Fold, it features a slightly smaller 5.49-inch external display and a 7.1-inch inner display, while Samsung’s phone features a 6.2-inch screen on the front and a 7.6-inch display when fully opened.

However, this smaller display size seems to be an advantage rather than a disadvantage. The smaller display size is a direct result of the Find N having a wider 2:1 aspect ratio, making it more natural and comfortable to use as a regular phone when closed, unlike Samsung’s offering, which had a very tall, rather uncomfortable aspect ratio.

And this doesn’t stop over here as the OPPO Find N features the same Samsung LTPO panel found on Samsung’s Z fold that has been seriously modified to support a new type of hinge mechanism. This new hinge mechanism allows the Find N to have a nearly unnoticeable crease between its screen when fully opened.

As for the technical side of things, the OPPO Find N features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor combined with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, all powered by a 4,500mAh battery. As you’d expect, the Find N also supports OPPO’s 33W SuperVOOC and 15W AirVOOC standards for wired and wireless charging, respectively, along with support for 10W reverse wireless charging.

Apart from the above specs, the Find N features a total of five cameras—both the inside and front screen have a 32MP hole-punch camera for selfies and video calling. Meanwhile, the device has a triple camera setup on its back, including a 50MP primary, a 16MP ultra-wide and a 13MP telephoto sensor.

The OPPO Find N feels like a solid contender against Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold, but unfortunately, OPPO won’t sell it outside China. The Find N will go on sale from December 23 and will be available in two different configurations, with the 8GB+256GB model priced at CNY 7,699 (approx. Rs 92,000) and the 12GB+512GB model priced at CNY 8,999 (approx. Rs 1,08,000).
