On Thursday, the Chinese tech giant, OnePlus announced that the OnePlus Nord CE 5G will be available in India on June 10. While OnePlus stated that the new OnePlus Nord phone would be reasonably priced, no hardware specs were revealed. However, Android Central has divulged a few specs, including the Snapdragon 750G chipset, a triple camera configuration with 64 megapixels, and a 90Hz display.
OnePlus announced the OnePlus Nord portfolio last year with the OnePlus Nord, a device that included the Snapdragon 765G, the company’s first non-800-series Snapdragon CPU. The rumour mill is rife with speculation about new devices in this series. Now, the latest addition to the OnePlus Nord series, the OnePlus Nord CE, has found its way to the top of the news.
The “CE” in OnePlus Nord CE 5G stands for “Core Edition” and it is believed that the smartphone is not a successor to the original OnePlus Nord.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset, which is somewhat less powerful than the Snapdragon 765G found in the original OnePlus Nord. However, it does include a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz, which is similar to the first-generation Nord.
In terms of cameras, the Nord CE 5G will include a 64MP primary camera and two secondary cameras. The front-facing camera could be a 16MP sensor. The other two cameras are not mentioned in the report.
Furthermore, Android Central claims that the upcoming OnePlus series phone will have a design similar to the OnePlus 9 series, which means it will have a rectangular camera module and a curved edged body.
Based on these features, it appears like OnePlus intends to market this handset as a rival to Samsung’s Galaxy A52 5G.
The Galaxy A52 5G likewise boasts a Snapdragon 750G and a 64MP camera, and when compared to the OnePlus Nord CE, it has an arguably better 32MP front shooter and a 6.5-inch display, with another distinction being that the Nord CE’s refreshes at 90Hz while the Galaxy A52 5G’s refreshes at 120Hz.

This suggests that the OnePlus Nord CE 5G price in India will be lower than the OnePlus Nord launched last year. It is too early to predict the pricing on this phone but it seems like the OnePlus Nord CE 5G could arrive with a price tag in the sub Rs 20,000 range based on speculations.
Ahead of the launch, the company has revealed that the OnePlus Nord CE 5G pre-order date for Red Cable Club members will begin on June 11, one day after the launch event, and also the phone will go on open sale on June 16th.
The virtual Summer Launch Event will begin at 7 PM IST. A separate OnePlus Nord CE 5G page is already live on renowned e-commerce platform Amazon India, implying that the smartphone would be sold exclusively on Amazon in addition to the OnePlus official website.
