After a long wait, the successors of the OnePlus Buds Z, the OnePlus Buds Z2, have officially launched in China alongside the OnePlus 9RT. Let’s take a look at what is new with the OnePlus Buds Z2.
Specifications of OnePlus Buds Z2
The OnePlus Buds Z2 indeed looks like a worthy upgrade over its predecessor. They come with 11mm dynamic drivers with Active Noise Cancellation and are also Dolby Atmos certified. The ANC is said to block 40db of external noise with the help of three microphones in each earbud.
Bluetooth codes supported on the OnePlus Buds Z2 are the AAC and SBC. They also support the BLE, SPP, HFP, A2DP, and AVRCP Bluetooth transmission protocols. With ANC turned on, you can expect 5 hours of continuous music playback, and with ANC turned off, 7 hours of continuous music playback from the earbuds. However, with the included case, which will recharge the battery of these buds, you can expect a total playback time of 38 hours.
You also get support for Wrap Charge, which can give you enough battery for 5 hours of black from 10 minutes of charging. You can get IPX4 splash resistance, which assures you these will be resistant to sweat and could be a great pair of TWS to use while you work out.
The OnePlus Buds Z has been a prime contributing product to bring OnePlus second place in the Indian TWS headset market, as per reports from CounterPoint. OnePlus was in second place in Q1 of 2021, with a growth rate of 156% YoY.
The OnePlus Buds Z2 seems to be a good pair of earphones to carry on the legacy of the OnePlus Buds Z.
Price of the OnePlus Buds Z2
The OnePlus Buds Z2 retails at Yuan 499, which roughly converts to USD 77. You can get these in both, Black and White Colour Options. However, the OnePlus Buds Z2 has only launched in China, and there is no word yet about the global launch. These earbuds come with the OnePlus 9RT, an excellent smartphone for its price; it is still China exclusive.
