According to reports, Nokia is preparing to add another handset to its 2021 lineup of 5G-compatible smartphones. According to Nokiapoweruser, a website devoted to Nokia news and leaks, the company is working on a Penta camera phone to replace last year’s Nokia 8.3 5G.
The publication also claims to have obtained the technical specifications for this upcoming product. According to the leak, the aforementioned Nokia phone will be fuelled by the yet-to-be-released Snapdragon 775 processor with model number SM7350. The chipset is expected to be a significant performance improvement over the Snapdragon 765G.
A 108MP primary sensor is also expected to be included in the Nokia 8.3 5G’s successor. The Penta camera pack could include ultra-wide, depth, macro, and telephoto sensors. Like the Nokia 8.3 5G, Zeiss could tune the optics once more, and the phone could also get OZO Audio.
The Nokia phone’s display is estimated to be 6.5 inches in size and has a QHD+ resolution. It’s also rumored to have a 120Hz refresh rate on the display.
The battery seems to be having a big update as well. The Nokia 8.3 5G had a 4,500mAh battery, but the current phone is said to have a 6,000mAh battery.
The phone’s name would most likely be free of Nokia’s decimal point naming convention. The X, G, and C series of phones were recently renamed by the company. According to the rumor, this latest gadget will be part of Nokia’s X series and will be called the X50.
In the second half of this year, the phone is expected to be released. If we hear something more about it in the future, we’ll let you know.
