Smartphone maker Nokia has officially announced the date of their upcoming launch event. The invite gives us a lot of information about what could possibly be launched at the event. The announcement shows some older Nokia phones all the way to one of their first feature phones launched in the early 2000s. The upcoming device is in a box that looks surprisingly bigger than any phone on the desk hinting towards the leaked Nokia T20 tablet. This is the first tablet from licensee HMD global.

According to the tweet from @NokiaMobile, we can see that the launch event will be on 6th October and will likely be a virtual event. The image shared by Nokia shows a Nokia 3310, Nokia 8110 4G, Nokia 6.2, Nokia X10, and Nokia XR20. Behind these devices, the image shows a white, unbranded retail box that is significantly larger than the rest.

Nokia T20 Leaks

We are expecting the upcoming tablet to be 10.36-inches in screen size which is about the size of a regular iPad. It is also expected to have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. So far we do not have any official details from Nokia or HMD Global but a retail listing does seem to have a blue color option for the tablet.

This tablet first hit the internet back in July earlier this year through a retail listing in the UK. The price of the Nokia T20 has been speculated to be GBP 185 (about Rs. 18,600) for the Wi-Fi only variant and GBP 202 (about Rs. 20,300) for the Wi-Fi + Cellular variant. Even before this listing in June however, we saw two rather unusual model numbers getting listed. They were TA-1392 and TA-1397. Now after details from the UK listing and the announcement image these two model numbers can quite possibly be the upcoming Nokia tablets.

The Nokia T20 will be their attempt at the tablet market after a long time and it will be interesting to see how it lines up with tablets from brands like Apple, Samsung, Lenovo and Xiaomi!
