Nokia has launched a new budget G-series phone in India – Nokia G21. The smartphone features a triple camera setup on the back, an octa-core Unisoc processor, a waterdrop notch style selfie camera, and a 6.5-inch display with 90Hz adaptive refresh rate support.

Nokia G21 has a textured rear panel with a triple camera setup and the company’s branding at the centre. On the front side, there’s a flat display with a slightly thick chin on the lower side. The Nokia G21 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 12,999.

Display

Nokia G21 flaunts a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with 1600 x 720 pixels resolution and 180Hz touch sampling rate. It supports a 90Hz adaptive refresh rate. It means that the refresh rates automatically switch based on the content being displayed on the phone. It saves battery.

Performance

The Nokia phone is powered by a Unisoc T606 chipset. It is a 12nm-based octa-core processor with two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 1.6GHz and the rest six are Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.6GHz. It has Mali G57 MP1 GPU.

Nokia G21 has got 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It comes with a microSD card slot that allows adding up to 512GB of additional storage.

Cameras

The Nokia G21 features a triple camera setup on the back. It includes a 50MP primary shooter with an f/1.8 aperture. The main sensor is joined with a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth shooter. The rear camera also includes an LED flash unit. For selfies and video calling, there’s an 8MP sensor inside the waterdrop notch.

The smartphone is backed by a 5,050mAh battery. It supports 18W fast charging. But, in the retail box, you’ll get a standard 10W charger.

Nokia G21 is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It has a dedicated button for Google Assistant. The device boots Android 11 out of the box, unfortunately. However, the company promises to release 2 OS updates and 3 years of security updates.

Nokia G21 pricing and availability

Nokia G21 comes in two memory configurations: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. The 4GB RAM option has been priced at Rs 12,999 and the 6GB RAM option will cost Rs 14,999. The phones comes in two colour options: Nordic Blue and Dusk. As a part of the launch offer, the company is offering a pair of Nokia BH-405 TWS for free, when purchasing Nokia G21 from the Nokia’s official website.
