Netflix has enabled Spatial Audio for iPhone and iPad and is now rolling out updates to devices running iOS 14. Spatial Audio is how Apple brands its technology of immersive surround sound. In simpler terms, if a device supports spatial audio, you can hear the sound coming from various directions corresponding to what is being played.
You can only use spatial audio with hearing devices that support it. AirPods Pro and AirPods Max are the only devices that support this feature as of now. This might seem like nothing extraordinary but Apple has its ways of making things better. Apple has designed the experience in such a way that if there’s a scene in which the audio is coming from the right and you move your head in that direction, it’ll become louder. This gives an immersive experience as if you are in the moment and engages you more into what you are watching.
You can turn on Spatial Audio in the control panel of your device. It works in sync with Dolby Atmos. If you can’t turn on Spatial Audio in your Netflix app, just update the app and you should have it.
Netflix has various plans and the cheapest is Rs 199 which can only be used on mobile phones. The basic Netflix plan cost Rs 499 and you can stream videos on SD quality not only on phones and tablets but also on computers and TV.
While Netflix does cost a premium over its competitors in the Indian market it does provide good content. Which OTT platforms are you subscribed to? Let us know in the comments below.
