Motorola has been reportedly working on a flagship smartphone, which will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. A Motorola executive has recently posted an image of the retail box, which could be the mysterious smartphone on Weibo, which indicates the device is ready for launch. The name of the device is still unknown for now, but we should find out more details about this device is expected to launch in early 2021. We managed to get a rough idea of what the smartphone would be about, thanks to the rumor mill. This is the second premium smartphone that Motorola seems to be working on, as on more than one occasion, reports of a Snapdragon 865-powered device codenamed ‘Motorola Nio’ has appeared online.

At this point, little is known about the specifications of the Motorola Snapdragon 888 phone. We may expect it to feature a high refresh rate, AMOLED screen, given that the smartphone is a high-end offering. Other specs could include support for fast charging, reverse wireless charging, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. The newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset will also allow Motorola to provide longer software updates, something that has long been a thorn on the side of Motorola.
Leaked renders have shown that the phone will come with a dual selfie camera lens and triple rear camera lens for the Motorola Nio. A 64-megapixel main sensor, a 16-megapixel OV16A10 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel OV02B1B depth sensor will come with its rear camera setup. An 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens will be used to support the 16-megapixel selfie camera. A similar camera configuration could be used by the Motorola Snapdragon 888 handset, maybe even throw in an extra camera lens for good measure.
