This DIY iPhone 13 Pro Max “Ultra” is Twice the Thickness of an Regular iPhone 13 Pro Max

Apple has recently been under the shade for multiple reasons including its refusal to not replace its beloved lightning connector with a much better and accessible USB-C port for its iPhone, mediocre battery life, overheating issues and so on. Frustrated by this, a Chinese modder who took the matters into his own hands has now built a custom iPhone 13 Pro Max, featuring more ports, cooling fans, and a larger battery.

The Chinese modder, Yang Changshun first revealed his modded iPhone 13 Pro Max “Ultra” on TikTok is twice the thickness of a regular iPhone 13 Pro Max, and it features a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a second battery along with louder speakers and two cooling fans.

As if this wasn’t enough, in one of his videos, he goes on to reveal that his modified iPhone delivers remarkably better performance in AnTuTu benchmark and that so with a significant margin of about 1.5 lakh points when compared to a stock iPhone, likely because of the new and improved D.I.Y cooling system.

Meanwhile, the process he used doesn’t seem to be user friendly at all and is very difficult to execute if you’re not some kind of engineer. Nonetheless, it’s kind of crazy to see the DIY/modder community execute something that even a Trillion dollar company with most of its capital reserved for research and development and hundreds of engineers couldn’t (or deliberately didn’t want to) figure out.
