Xiaomi will be launching its latest flagship smartphone Mi 11 which will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. There is no official announcement on the global launch date for the Mi 11 series. But, rumors suggest the series will be unveiled by February 2021. Xiaomi will also bring the Mi 11 series to India too. The Mi 11 series will be competing against flagship phones of OnePlus, Samsung, and Apple.
Xiaomi will not launch two versions this year and they will only offer a solo flagship phone, unlike Mi 10 series. The upcoming flagship will feature a modified design and upgraded specifications. So, is it worth waiting for the Mi 11 series?
Here’s what has changed from its predecessor:
Xiaomi Mi 11 vs Xiaomi Mi 10 Display & Design:
The upcoming flagship from Xiaomi will feature a Triple-rear camera setup, whereas, the Mi 10 house a Quad-rear camera setup. Both Mi 11 and Mi 10 feature a Punch-Hole display with curved edges. The Mi 11 will feature a Square-shaped camera module, while the Mi 10 has a pill-shaped camera module.
The upcoming flagship Mi 11 will feature a 6.8-inch 2k(1440p) AMOLED display which supports 1500nits of brightness, 5000000:1 contrast ratio, 512ppi(Pixel Per Inch), 120Hz refresh rate with 480Hz touch sampling rate. The Mi 11’s panel also supports DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+ and Motion Estimation support, MEMC ( Motion Compensation), and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Protection. The company has claimed that screen analysis firm DisplayMate has already given an A+ rating to Mi 11.
The Mi 10 feature a 6.67-Inch FHD+(1080p) Curved E3 AMOLED display. The Mi 10’s panel supports a 90 Hz refresh rate with a 180Hz touch sampling rate, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 1120 nits brightness. Hence, Mi 11 has a better resolution and Refresh Rate, compared to Mi 10.
Xiaomi Mi 11 vs Xiaomi Mi 10 Processor & software:
The Mi 11 will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 Processor. The Mi 11 will ship with the latest Android 11 OS out of the box. Mi 11 features Harman Kardon tuned Stereo Speakers, heart rate detection through the Goodix in-display fingerprint sensor, NFC, and IR blaster. The Mi 11 will support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, and a vapor chamber cooling system.
The Mi 10 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Processor and Android 10 OS out of the box. The Mi 10 features a LiquidCool 2.0 Vapor Chamber as well as a Six stack Graphite layer and graphene surface area for thermal management. Hence, Mi 11 has a better Processor and software, compared to Mi 10
Xiaomi Mi 11 vs Xiaomi Mi 10 Camera:
The Mi 11 will feature a triple rear camera setup, A 108-Megapixel Primary f/1.85 sensor with a pixel size of 1.6 microns with support for OIS(Optical Image Stabilization). Xiaomi claims that the 1/1.33-Inch primary camera sensor is 3.7 times bigger than the iPhone 12. The Phone is capable of recording up to 8K videos. The rear camera setup also includes a 13-Megapixel f/2.4 wide-angle lens with 123-degrees field view and a 5-Megapixel tertiary sensor with f/2.4 macro lens with a focal length equivalent to 50 millimeters. The Mi 11 also offers better low-light videos.
The Mi 10 features a Quad rear camera setup, A 108-Megapixel Primary sensor with a 7 piece lens and support for OIS(Optical Image Stabilization), a 13-Megapixel f/2.4 wide-angle lens with 123-degrees field view and, a 2-Megapixel sensor with f/2.4. Both Mi 11 and Mi 10 features a 20-Megapixel selfie camera. The device supports photography features like Focus Peaking, Exposure Verification, HEIF Support, and LOG Mode. Hence Mi 11 has an improved camera, compared to Mi 10.
Xiaomi Mi 11 vs Xiaomi Mi 10 Battery:
The Xiaomi Mi 11 will feature a 4600 mAh battery that supports Mi TurboCharge 55W wired and 50W wireless charging. The Mi 11 also supports 10W wireless reverse charging. The Company has announced in China that it won’t be offering a charger in the box. Xiaomi has reported to Android Authority that ‘Xiaomi will be offering two versions, one without charger and the other with a 55W GaN charger”, outside China.
The Mi 10 features a 4780mAh battery that supports 30W fast wired charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. Hence Mi 11 has a Better charging facility, compared to Mi 10.
Xiaomi Mi 11 vs Xiaomi 10 Price:
The Xiaomi Mi 11 is expected to launch at a price of Rs.55,000 in India. The base model of 8GB RAM+128GB storage will launch at price of Rs.48,300(approx) and 12GB RAM+256GB storage for Rs.52,800(approx). The device will be available in Horizon Blue, Frost White, and Midnight Gray color options
The Mi 10 is currently available in India at Rs.44,999 for 128GB variant and Rs.49,999 for 256GB variant. The device is available in Coral Green and Twilight Grey color options. Which makes it cheaper and the device is available to purchase, compare to Mi 11.
So, if you are looking to purchase a new flagship smartphone, we would recommend you to wait for Mi 11 to release, as it offers more value for money compared to Mi 10. But, if you want a flagship phone now, and you are ok with compromising few features at a less price compared to Mi 11, then the Mi 10 is for you.
