At Apple’s “Unleashed” Event, Apple introduced refreshed models of the MacBook Pro and Airpods. The MacBook Pro came with two new ARM-based SoC’s. Now, we have rendered images suggesting the design of the upcoming MacBook Air 2022.
The new MacBook Air 2022 will reportedly have a newer ‘M2’ SoC. Apple just released the M1 Pro and the M1 Max, successors to the M1 processor, and both these SoC’s seem to be super powerful, at least on paper and according to Apple’s claims.
MacBook Air 2022 will come with a newer and powerful SoC and a new design. Thanks to FrontPageTech, we have the renders of the upcoming MacBook Air.

The very first aspect of this design to catch your attention will be the infamous notch. We still have to see how disruptive the notch is in real-life usage.
We can expect a white keyboard throughout the lineup with full-size function keys. The speakers’ housing is at the sides of the keyboard, and the design hints towards dual stereo speakers.

The port selection seems quite limited, with two USB Type-C Thunderbolt-4 ports on both sides of the laptop. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack, and with Magsafe returning to the new MacBook Pro’s, we can expect it to be there on the refreshed MacBook Air 2022. The MacBook Air 2022 is also said to launch in several colour options.

The recently launched MacBook Pro lineup has a good number of ports, and that is expected with the “Pro” MacBooks as they are intended for professional use. They come at a higher price tag, and most users don’t necessarily need that amount of power.

The MacBook Air, especially the Air M1, has been heavily praised for its excellent battery life, and it packs a punch for the price it comes at. The MacBook Air 2022 will be an upgrade to the current MacBook, which is what we are expecting.
