Last week, a leaked poster of the iQOO 9 series revealing its design and launch date surfaced on the internet. It suggested that the next flagship series from Vivo’s sub-brand could launch on January 5 in China. While we wait for an official announcement, key specifications of the iQOO 9 Pro have been revealed via a Geekbench listing.
The upcoming iQOO 9 Pro has been spotted on the Geekbench website with the model number V2172A. The listing does not reveal its marketing name. However, multiple reports believe that the model number V2172A belongs to the iQOO 9 Pro. The Geekbench listing shows that the phone will boot Android 12 out of the box with a layer of OriginOS custom skin at the top.
The iQOO phone is powered by an octa-core processor, code-named “taro,” and has Adreno 730G GPU for all graphics-related work. The listing does not explicitly reveal the chipset name. However, the cores configuration and GPU details point to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. When tested on Geekbench v5 benchmarking platform, the phone produced a result of 1277 points and 3787 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
The listing suggests that iQOO 9 Pro will get a 12GB variant. And, we are likely to see an 8GB RAM option as well. According to rumours, the vanilla iQOO 9 will bring a FullHD+ display, whereas the Pro model will get an AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate support. Both the devices support 120W fast charging and have a battery capacity of around 4,700mAh.
