iPhone SE 3 design revealed through a concept renders

Highlights:

  • iPhone SE 3 renders suggest a punch-hole display and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
  • Rumors suggest the iPhone SE 3 will feature a 5.4-inch OLED display, powered by an A13 Bionic chipset, a 12-megapixel rear camera.
  • It is unlikely that Apple could launch the iPhone SE 3 before H2 2021.

For quite a while, there are rumors which state that Apple will launch an iPhone SE 2020 successor this year. There are many assumptions about the name of the device, with one rumor suggest that it will be iPhone SE 3, while another one suggests that it could be called as iPhone SE Plus. Svetapple.sk created some creative renders of the iPhone SE 3/iPhone SE Plus and suggested some possible specifications of the device. The last year’s iPhone SE 2020 design seems a bit out-dated, Apple could give the iPhone SE 3 or iPhone SE Plus a more updated modern look.

As you can see above, the absence of a home button would be one of the biggest improvements to the iPhone SE 3. What makes it interesting is that the system is completely stripped of a notch, although the bezels have been cut down. The renderers imagine that on the iPhone SE 3, Apple would select a hole-punch selfie camera. The iPhone SE 3 was able to switch its fingerprint sensor to the frame of the handset, just like the current iPad Air. The body structure, complete with the aluminum body and all, will remain relatively identical to that of the iPhone 12 series.

Here are some expected specs for the iPhone SE 3 that we might get to see. The phone may have a 5.4-inch 1080p OLED screen, probably the same one used on the iPhone 12 Mini, for starters. While the infographic indicates that an A14 Bionic chipset will come with the iPhone SE 3, the chances of that occurring are slim, given the less than ideal 5 nm yields of TSMC. We’re probably looking at the 2019 A13 Bionic. On the camera side of things, the front and rear of the iPhone SE 3 will come with a single 12 MP sensor. Renowned Apple analyst Ming Chi-Kuo claims that the launch of the iPhone SE 3 is not due until after H2 2021.
