The prototype of Intel’s Sapphire Rapid server CPU is out. The latest CPU of Intel is spotted on Geekbench running on 20 cores and 40 threads.
Intel Sapphire Rapids CPU will run on 20 cores and 40 threads. The CPU will feature breakthrough technologies like DDR5 for Increased Memory, PCI-E 5 for High Throughput, and CXL 1.1 Next-gen IO. For Built-In AI Acceleration Intel, uses their Advanced Matrix Extensions(AMX) to increased deep learning inference and training performance. To compete with all the high-tech CPUs in the market, Intel will feature High Bandwidth Memory in the latest Sapphire Rapids for significant performance which increases bandwidth-bound workloads.
According to the listing, The processor has been tested for featuring 20 cores and 42 threads, running a dual-socket system on two CPUs. Running at a 4.68-4.70 GHz base frequency but reports suggest that it will run at a 1.5GHz base frequency. Sapphire Rapids will also launch HEDT consumer’s CPUs, so such frequencies can be expected at some point.
