Back in August, Instagram replaced swipe-up links with sticker links. Developers were testing this feature before releasing it for the masses. Finally, Instagram announced full access to link stickers for everyone.
Do remember, you can add links only to your stories and not to your posts. However, adding links to your stories is a nifty feature that allows users to immediately share information about specific topics; whatever your use case might be like, sharing video links, sharing links to websites, linking products from your websites, small business, and so on.
Links eliminate the hassle of “googling,” making information available right at a click. Instagram says,
“When we first introduced Stories links, the feature was limited to verified accounts or those with a certain number of followers. We’ve heard from the rest of our community that they also want to share things that matter with their friends and family. Whatever you’re into, from cooking to volunteering or shopping, you now have a space to share in Stories — regardless of your account size.”

Steps to Add Link Sticker to Instagram Your Stories
Please note, the update is rolling out in phases and will be soon available to all accounts. If the feature is not available to you yet, wait for a few days to get added. Sticker links have already rolled out to a few iOS users and will be open to all shortly. To add a Link sticker:
- Capture or upload content to your story
- Select the sticker tool from the top navigation bar
- Tap the “Link” sticker to add your desired link and tap “Done.”
- Place the sticker on your story — like our other stickers — and tap on the sticker to see color variations
