The Huawei P50 has been widely speculated in recent months, and we’ve assumed that the camera would have a new interface for the most part. Two wide camera rings are found to hold four sensors, plus a primary camera with a large 1-inch sensor.
A render posted to Twitter by user @RODENT950 is the most recent update on the P50 Series. These renders, according to the leaker, are not mockups but live renders. The camera array inside the large rings can be seen in these renders, with three cameras in the upper cluster and one in the lower. It’s thought that the lower camera, which has a large camera sensor, is the main shooter.
Previous phone leaks only showed the dual rings that make up the camera setup, but the layout of the cameras beneath the rings was never clearly defined. There may be a telephoto one, but we don’t see a periscope one, according to the Twitter thread. However, Huawei claims to have three P50 models, so it’s likely we’re looking at the standard P50 edition.
The standard P50 is expected to have a 6.3-inch screen and a punch-hole selfie camera in the front. There are four cameras overall, with Sony’s 1-inch IMX 800 sensor rumored to be included. The Huawei P50 trio is expected to launch sometime in May or June.
