Send Payments in India with WhatsApp
Sending money or making payments has never been this easier and to make digital transactions easier, WhatsApp on 6th November announced that people across India will be able to send money through WhatsApp ios and Android smartphone app. This secure payment experience makes transferring money just as easy as sending a message.
WhatsApp has designed the WhatsApp payments feature in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) using the Unified Payment Interface (UPI). People can send money on WhatsApp to anyone using a UPI supported app. Payments on WhatsApp is now available on the latest ios and Android app in India.
To send money, users need to have a bank account with a debit card to make transfers via UPI(unified payment interface). WhatsApp has partnered with some top leading banks like ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Axis Bank, Jio Payments Bank, and HDFC Bank.
Users can make payments or send money in WhatsApp by navigating to the attachment icon before the camera icon that is present on the bottom Chat Bar.
