People have been requesting Instagram to reintroduce chronological feeds, and Meta has finally listened to their fans. Users have often made complaints that since chronological feeds were eliminated, they’ve been missing out on a slew of posts. That’s why in this article we will talk about how to have a chronological Instagram feed.
On March 23, Instagram’s Head, Adam Mosseri, introduced two new features: “Following” and “Favorites.” The first one displays posts from the accounts you follow in chronological order, while the latter one displays posts from a curated list of accounts you selected.
How to have a Chronological Instagram feed?
A word search game was used to preview Instagram’s chronological posts. From the third bottom row of the game, users can see the term “chronological” listed diagonally.
In a Meta blog post, Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri, stated “Favorites” displays users the most recent updates from accounts they have selected, such as closest buddies or favorite creators. You may see posts from the individuals you follow by clicking on their names. Both Favorites and Following will display posts in chronological order, allowing you to easily catch up on what has been posted recently.”
- To view your feed in chronological order, flip between “Following” and “Favorites” by tapping the Instagram logo in the top left corner.
- To show posts in chronological order, select “Following.”
Note: Accounts in your “Favorites” list will appear higher in your “Home” feed and will have a star icon, according to Meta. Users can add up to 50 accounts to their “Favorites,” and users will not be notified if they are added or removed. Not only that but, Mosseri also claimed that Instagram will “add additional recommendations to your feed based on your interests.” in the future.
