The majority of people have come to tolerate spam as a part of their daily life. While there are several simple techniques to filter email spam, most consumers ignore spam sent via SMS or text messages. Various amazing SMS apps for Android allow you to completely filter spam texts or send them to a separate folder to be checked later. If you have an iPhone, though, you may receive a lot of spam texts every day and have yet to figure out how to block them.

Whether the spam text is from a cell number advertising flats you don’t want to buy, or from bulk sender IDs like DM-DUNKND or VK-UBERIN – whose service you may have used once, long ago, but whose messages arrive daily like clockwork – here’s how to permanently ban them.
- Open the spam text in the Messages app.
- Click the i icon on the top-right.
- Click on the name of the sender at the top, below Details.
- Click on Block this Caller.
- Click on Block Contact.
- This will block spam SMS from the sender.
- To unblock, go to Settings > Call Blocking & Identification. Click on edit and then the red button to the left of each number.
