Honor Announces Honor X30i, X30 Max with Dimensity Chipsets and Big LCD Screens

Honor X30i and X30 Max are the latest mid-rangers from Honor that bring Dimensity chipsets and larger LCD, mainly targeted for media consumption.

Honor X30i and X30 Max debuted at an event held today in China. These are the company’s latest mid-range phones that come with LCD panels, Dimensity chipsets, and fast charging support. With a 7.09-inch large LCD screen and 5000mAh battery, the Honor X30 Max seems a good choice for media consumption. Let’s now look at other aspects of the phone as well as the pricing.

The Honor X30i brings a 6.7-inch FullHD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and a high screen-to-body ratio. It has a small punch-hole cutout for an 8MP selfie snapper. Around the back, the Honor X30i is equipped with a 48MP primary camera, further joined with a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor.

The Dimensity 810 5G 6 nm-based chipset powers the device. Honor X30i features GPU Turbo X to boost gaming performance. It packs a 4000mAh battery and supports 22.5W fast charging through a USB Type-C port.

Honor X30i starts at CNY 1,399 (~Rs 16,400) for the 6GB + 128GB variant.

It also comes in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants for CNY 1,699 (~Rs 19,900) and CNY 1,899 (~Rs 22,200), respectively. It comes in pink, silver, blue and black colours and is already up for pre-order, while sales will begin November 11.

As the name suggests, it is slightly more premium than the X30i. The phone is highlighted by a large 7.09-inch LCD with FullHD+ resolution, 90% screen-to-body ratio, and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. The MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset powers it.

Honor is mainly targeting the media consumption users with the X30 Max. Another two things that make the device a good fit for that purpose is that it is TUV certified for low blue light emission, and the brightness value can go as low as 2nit. And, on the other extreme, it can reach 780nits. It means that you can use the device in a dark environment as well as in daylight.

The smartphone houses a 64MP primary camera + 2MP depth unit on the rear side and a single 8MP selfie shooter inside the dewdrop notch. It has a 5000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support. The X30 Max is equipped with dual stereo speakers.

Connectivity features include – dual-SIM 5G, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS, Wi-Fi, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Both Honor X30i, X30 Max boot Android-11 based Magic UI 5.0 skin and feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Honor X30 Max comes in three colour options – Magical Night Black, Charm Sea Blue, and Titanium Silver. It is already up for pre-order and will go on sale starting November 11 in China.
