Honor has been in the news around speculations of the launch of a new Play5 model in China on May 18. Now recently, Honor took to Weibo to officially reveal that the upcoming Play 5 5G smartphone would feature 66W charging.
According to the official posters, the smartphone will be available in white gradient, silver gradient, and black colour options.
Just yesterday, Honor teased the Play 5 on Weibo, confirming that the device will be available on May 18. The official post also includes 5G branding, implying that the smartphone will be available in both LTE and 5G versions.
Furthermore, based on the leaks and reported teasers we’ve seen so far, Honor is expected to release more than one Play 5 version.

Specifications of the device have previously been leaked. It is rumoured to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC and come with 66W fast charging support.
As per yesterday’s reports, the display will feature a water-drop notch with slim bezels surrounding it. A square camera module will be found on the phone’s rear panel housing four camera sensors.

The HONOR Play5 5G is expected to have a quad rear camera setup, with a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro photographer, and a 2MP depth snapper. It will have a 16MP selfie camera on the front.
The HONOR Play5 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of data. It will run Android 11 and have a 3,800mAh battery with 66W fast-charging support. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, 5G, a headphone jack, and a Type-C port should all be supported by the system.

The official pricing and availability information for the HONOR Play5 5G will be revealed on May 18. However, given the planned specifications and features, it is possible that it will cost about Rs. 20,000.
