Google Pixel phones are always among the first to receive the latest security patch update. As expected, the brand has started pushing the April 2022 security patch update to Pixel 3a, Pixel 4, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 6, and Pixel 6. For the Pixel 6 duo, the update brings more than fixing security vulnerabilities.

The latest software update for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro weighs just 27MB. According to the changelog shared by PhoneArena, the latest package includes the April 2022 security patch that fixes more than 40 security vulnerabilities. The update also includes improvements for wireless charging performance with certain accessories.

With the April update for Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Google has fixed the issue “causing front-facing camera preview in certain apps to appear zoomed in”. Also, the problem of the occasional green screen in camera preview is getting a fix.

The April 2022 security update for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro has also started rolling out on the Verizon carrier in the US. For Pixel 6, the update comes with the firmware version SP2A.220405.004, and the Pixel 6 Pro users can identify the update by the firmware version SP2A.220405.004. The update only brings the April security patch and performance improvements. There’s no mention of camera fixes though.
