Samsung is planning to reveal the next entries in its Galaxy Z foldable lineup in a few months. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Fold 3 are expected to be released in July. It is expected that the latest models will be larger and better than their predecessors. However, in terms of battery life, this may not be the case for the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
Specifications for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 (leaked)
The upcoming foldable phablet will have two separate battery units with a combined capacity of around 4,400mAh, as revealed by the 3C certification in China last month. That would be slightly less than the Galaxy Z Fold 2’s 4,500mAh battery size. According to a news article, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 would not see any changes in charging speed.
The Chinese regulatory agency recently released the specifications of the new phone’s charging adapter. According to the listing, the unit will include the EP-TA800 charger, which was included with the Galaxy Z Fold 2 last year.
The maximum output of this power brick is 25W (9V/2.27A or 11V/2.25A). This charger is also included with a number of other high-end and mid-range smartphones from Samsung, including the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 10 series, and Galaxy A72. So, despite being billed as the most powerful foldable smartphone to date, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 appears to offer no substantial improvements in terms of capacity.
Of course, more power-efficient internals and better device optimizations could help Samsung boost overall battery life. But that’s a whole different story.
|Expected Price:||Rs. 72,990|
|Release Date:||14-Jul-2021 (Expected)|
|Variant:||8 GB RAM / 256 GB internal storage|
However, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has other advantages
A 25W charging speed for a flagship smartphone may not seem sufficient in this day and age when OEMs are offering up to 120W fast charging, but the Galaxy Z Fold 3 certainly boasts a slew of other strong enhancements. Most importantly, it will provide support for the S Pen for the first time in Samsung’s foldable lineup. According to reports, the unit will get a new Hybrid S Pen. It will not have a fine tip to avoid damaging the foldable display.
Furthermore, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is said to be the first device to use Samsung’s Under Display camera (UDC). The company has been working on this technology for some time now, and it appears to be ready. Of course, it will be the world’s first foldable smartphone with an invisible front camera.
Samsung has not yet announced a date for the release of its next-generation foldable smartphones. However, as previously mentioned, a July launch is widely anticipated. It’s only a matter of time before the Korean company makes an official announcement about this.
